| This is us on our first drive in the United
States. Niklas is driving, Benny is the co-pilot, Mauri and some luggage
share the middle row, Stefanie and Bjoern are in the back row. The road
you see is somewhere between Boston and Bridgeport. |
|
| Mauri, Bjoern and Stefanie in the garden that surrounds
Tarquin Studio. We had incredibly sunny weather for most of our time there,
which added to our constant euphoria. |
 |
This is Bjoern. And, in the background, the front porch
of Peter Katis' house. Sadly our dreams of spending our days in rocking
chairs on that porch never materialized. So much for our american dream.
|
 |
| We never really got tired of posing in front of our car,
a Pontiac Montana that was filled with all kinds of pointless (and, mostly,
fun) gadgets. |
 |
| Bjoern, driving to the local Stop & Shop. Please note
that, while he appears to be concentrating on making a right turn, is is
in fact primarily concerned with using his right thumb to turn up the volume
of the car stereo. |
 |
| Greg Giorgio and Peter Katis working the Neotek Console.
Our various attempts to take a full picture of the outboard gear was met
with a smile by Peter: "You need a wide angle lens for that!"
Looks impressive enough anyway. |
 |
| Mixing a record usually means a lot of time spent sitting
around so we were relieved to find a comfortable sofa at Tarquin studio.
It also meant that we spent a lot of time looking at all the great instruments
there, wishing we had some time to record with them. |
 |
| Downstairs at Tarquin, looking from the living room into
the kitchen. The shelf on the far right is reserved for bands and their
stuff. We we're constantly tempted to steeal some of The Nationals corn
flakes. |
 |
| This is Bjoern trying to change Mauris flight tickets on
the United Airlines hotline. If you ever try something like this be prepared
to waste a couple of hours on it and hope you have some people around to
lend you moral support. |
 |
| Someone had to get the new tickets in Hartford. Mauri,
Stefanie, Bjoen and Benny took care of that and somewhere along the way
they found the time to take this self portrait in front of the capitol. |
