Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind" is one of the most beautiful songs on love and relationships. His own version on s/t LP is very good, albeit a bit solemn. There are countless covers, also one by the later Spotnicks that sounds very supermarket-radio-slick and is not at all recommended. Maybe ours is the nicest. Not so "April Come She Will". As almost any song sung by Simon & Garfunkel it is hard to reach but the tune is so nice that we wanted to play it. The original version is sung by Art and was on their second LP "The Sounds Of Silence", which is a beautiful record anyway; it has a subtly radical poetry that's quite unique.
