"Waves Of Fear" by Lou Reed on his LP "Blue Mask", his version is lovely and brutal. Brian Wilsons masterpiece "Pet Sounds", that he released with the Beach Boys, opens with an untouchable version of "Wouldn't It Be Nice" and the best-known rendering of "I'm Looking Through You" is of course the one the Beatles put on "Rubber Soul".
